Lucia Balmer

Lucia Mullen Balmer, 69, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, June 22, 2015, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1945, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Ann Crawford Mullen, and widow of Hans-Juerg Balmer. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Converse College. Surviving are her brother, Robert Hale Mullen; three sisters, Wilton Workman, Anne Kudner, and Monty Mullen; and brothers-in-law, Robert Workman and Julian Hankinson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, William "Bill" Linwood Mullen, Jr. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church, 393 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by The Rev. Joanne Hull. The family will receive friends in the church Parlor following the service. Inurnment will be at a later date in Christ Church Historic Churchyard, Greenville, SC.
