Lt. Cantrell

Ronald Eugene Cantrell, 50, of Boiling Springs, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born March 22, 1961, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Oscar Eugene and Jeanette Irene Hollingsworth Cantrell of Spartanburg, and husband of Virginia Elisabeth Fowler Cantrell of the home. Lt. Cantrell was employed with the City of Spartanburg as a police officer for 18 years. He was a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, Criminal Justice, and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by sons, Ronald Eugene Cantrell, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, and Joshua Heath Cantrell, all of Boiling Springs; granddaughter, Kiersten Elizabeth Cantrell of Boiling Springs; and brother, Lawrence Scott Cantrell of Spartanburg. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Carlton Hames and the Rev. Wayne Hyatt. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers and honorary escort will be fellow police officers. The family is at their respective homes.
