Loyd Teaster

Loyd "Honey Hush" Teaster, 80, of Pacolet, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at his home. Born April 25, 1932, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late William Otis and Nettie Beatrice Reynolds Teaster. Mr. Teaster was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Hoechst Fibers with 17 years of service and a member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving are his beloved wife, Polly Parker Teaster; his daughter, Cheryl Teaster Cooke and husband Dennis; he was the best papa in the world to his granddaughters, Mandy Carter and her husband Patrick, and Jennifer Carter and her husband John; great-grandchildren, Peyton Carter, Kennedy Carter, and Cameron Carter; sister, Evelyn Crawford; brothers, Elbert, Clyde, Paul, Glenn, Lawrence, and Howard Teaster; three step granddaughters; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Carl Teaster. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Browns Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Ralph Jett and Pastor Bill Pickel. Burial with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Browns Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 396, Pacolet Mills, SC 29373.
