Loyce Tolliver

October 10, 1925 — June 1, 2012

Loyce June Schink Tolliver, 86, of Spartanburg, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, June 1, 2012, at her home. Born October 10, 1925, in Joplin, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Cleo Kelley Schink. Loyce Tolliver was the loving wife for 65 years of Marvin Tolliver, who went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2011. Mrs. Loyce Tolliver graduated in 1944 from Joplin High School. She retired from working with the City of Spartanburg as a crossing guard after 40 years of service. As a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, she was a member of Yesterday Teens and Young At Heart. Survivors whom Loyce loved and adored include a daughter, Billie Tolliver Huskey of Spartanburg; a son, Brett Earl Tolliver of Spartanburg; four granddaughters, Marcia Gibson and husband Shannon Gibson of Lyman, Jenny Kona and husband Albert Kona of Durres, Albania (missionary servants from Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church), Christie Gibson of Monticello, Georgia, Jamie Betsill and husband Matthew Betsill of Cumming, Georgia; and six great-grandchildren, Salome Gibson, Knox Tolliver Gibson, Judah Gibson, Evangelyn Gibson, Annabella Kona, and Aaron Barrett Betsill. In addition to her husband, Loyce Tolliver was predeceased by a brother, Robert Schink. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, with the Rev. Seth Buckley of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg presiding. Immediately following will be visitation with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Special Needs Fund, 120 Heywood Avenue Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
