Louise Webber Wham Wingo, longtime resident of Spartanburg, died Saturday the 28th of May at the home of her daughter where she had lived the last 3 ½ years. She was a beloved wife, mother, "Nana," aunt and friend. Born in 1920 in Spartanburg to William Boyce and Frankie Oglesby Webber, she was the third of five children who was the last surviving member of the Webber family. She was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. She lived the majority of her life in Spartanburg, where she was an active member of First Baptist Church and faithful employee at the Spartanburg Herald Journal until her retirement. Louise lived her life more concerned for others than herself. She cared for many loved ones who couldn't care for themselves. She loved her family and devoted her life to encouraging and supporting them. She had the God-given gift of hospitality and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Wham Genoble (Tommy) of Mountain Rest, SC; two step-sons, Ronald A. Wingo (Sherril) of Columbus, NC and David W. Wingo of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughters, Robin M. Moxley (Thom) of Mountain Rest, SC; Tricia M. Hall (Darren) of Pendleton, SC; great granddaughters, Gwyneth, Rebekah, and Laura Moxley and Michaela Hall; great grandsons, Van Moxley and T.J. Hall; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a step grandson, Jason Wingo. She was the widow of William Melvin Wham, Jr. and Julian Alexander Wingo. A graveside service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
