Louise Kane Willard, 74, of 122 Sunrise Road, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born June 24, 1934, in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Frances Handy Kane. She was a retired teacher, a member of Westgate Baptist Church and Gideons International, and a very active volunteer for Westgate Christian School. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Richard W. Willard; two sons, Darryl Willard and his wife Kimberly of Chesnee, and Dwight Willard and his wife Diana of Woodstock, CT; four granddaughters, Ryann Willard and Madison Willard of Chesnee, Kaitlyn Willard and Paige Willard of Woodstock, CT; two brothers, James Kane of Putnam, CT, and Francis Kane of Athens, ME; and a sister, Bernice Spencer of Clinton, CT. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, in the Sanctuary of Westgate Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Church conducted by the Rev. Bill Bethea and the Rev. Ed Deese. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P. O. Box 3103, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family is at the home.
