Louise Pannell

Louise Kirby Pannell, 94, of Pacolet, SC, died Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 7, 1919, in Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Samuel and Ethel Estelle Fowler Kirby, and widow of W. R. "Pee-Wee" Pannell. You were a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She was a graduate of Pacolet High School, a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, and retired from the Milliken Pacolet Plant. Survivors include her son, Lloyd Pannell and wife Pam of Pacolet; grandchildren, David Pannell, Bobby Pannell, and Angel Scruggs; great-grandchildren, Will Pannell, Ashton Scruggs, and Christopher Scruggs. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lori Ann Pannell; brothers, E. L. Kirby, Clarence Kirby, Samuel Kirby, and Robert Daucee Kirby; and sisters, Pearl Gloss, Vera Richards, Ruby Early, and Edna Sinclair. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 6, 2013, in Pacolet Memorial Gardens, 141 Memorial Dr., Pacolet, SC 29372, by the Rev. Norman L. Band. Memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
