Louise Jordan

Mary Louise Sistare Jordan, 88, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 2, 2016, at her home. Born April 1, 1928, in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of the late "A.T." and Lenora Israel Sistare and wife of 52 years to the late John Walton Palmer Jordan. Always determined and ever optimistic, Louise loved her Lord, her husband, and family. A multi-talented lady, the best cook, and seamstress, she always gave gifts to others from her talents. She went to Business School in Greenwood and was the former vice president and secretary at A.T. Sistare Construction Company until the death of her husband "Kitty" in 2000. She then assumed the role of owner and president until 2010. She was respectful of her employees and regarded them as family. Louise was also a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was a former Cub Scout Leader, Boy Scout Assistant, and Youth Sunday School teacher. She attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in her later years. Survivors include her daughters, Carmen J. Loudermilk (Wayne) of Spartanburg, SC and Jackie J. Brown (John) of Charlotte, NC; son, John A. Jordan of the home; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Luree Daniels of Hendersonville, NC, Ann McMains (Larry) of Huntersville, NC, and Faye Chaplin (Larry) of Pawley's Island, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Taylor; and brother, Leon Sistare. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 5, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely, Mr. Ralph Smith and Mr. Danny Russell. Entombment will be private.
