Louise Griffin

Louise Ellis Griffin, 90, of Eden Terrace, Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, March, 4, 2017. A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Woody R. and Ruth Henderson Ellis and was the wife for 53 years of George Edward Griffin, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1999. She was a member of River Hills Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was a long-time member of the choir and the Women's Missionary Union. She is survived by a daughter, Janis Griffin Johnson (Michael) of Greenville, son, George Edward "Eddie" Griffin, Jr. (Becky) of Anderson; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Pat Brown of Pauline; and a brother, Tommy Ellis of Spartanburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Jo Griffin Brown; two brothers, Kenneth Ellis and Dan Ellis; as well as a sister, Betty Schrimpf. Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon conducted by Rev. Kent Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to River Hills Baptist Church, 5762 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
