Louise Bradford Williamson Fretwell, of the Summit Hills Retirement Community, died Saturday, December 29, 2012. Born April 20, 1928, in Jacksonville, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Susan and Benjamin Harris Williamson. She was married to the late Alonzo Alexander Fretwell, Sr. She is survived by three children, Susan A. Fretwell of Spartanburg, Charles B. Fretwell, II, and his wife, Leslie, of Boiling Springs, SC, and Alonzo A. Fretwell, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Williamson Evans of Jacksonville, Florida. She attended Mount Vernon College in Washington, DC. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she served in the Crib Room for many years and taught Sunday School. She was a long time board member of the Ballet Guild of Spartanburg. She was a member of the Fruit and Flower Garden Club, the Second Tuesday Book Club, the Junior League of Spartanburg, The Piedmont Club, the Country Club of Spartanburg, The Assembly, The Daughters of the Cincinnati, the South Carolina Chapter of The Colonial Dames of America and the Battle of Cowpens Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Fretwell was a direct descendant of William Blount of North Carolina, a signer of the Constitution of the United States. The memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
