Louise Sparnell Parker Beaber, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born February 8, 1922, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Richard Lawson and Maria McDowell Sparnell. Mrs. Beaber was an operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company, and later, secretary for the Pre-College Department at Converse College. She was a member of River Hills Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and the Ruth Sunday School Class. Surviving are her husband of 20 years, Jerry Leroy Beaber; three sons, Richard Earle Parker and wife Jane of Spartanburg, SC, Dennis Wayne Parker of Maitland, FL, and Douglas Keith Parker and wife Debby of Woodstock, GA; brother, Jack S. Sparnell and wife Shirley of Smyrna, GA; three step-children, Rodney Beaber of North Canton, OH, Rita Storrie of Simpsonville, SC, and Benny Beaber of Columbus, OH; eleven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, of 45 years, Roy Edward Parker; two brothers, Richard Bernard Sparnell and Charles Sparnell; and a step-grandson. Visitation will be 10:30-11:45 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. C. Kent Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
