Louis Dean Cantrell, 98, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at RoseCrest-Inman. He was born February 23, 1914, in Boiling Springs, SC. Mr. Cantrell was the husband of the late Cassandra Elizabeth Algary Cantrell, son of the late Candace Daniel Cantrell and Henry Forest Cantrell, and the stepson of the late Ida Daniel Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was a lifelong member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, retired from Shell Oil Company, and was a local peach grower and prior member of the SC Peach Growers Association. Surviving are his daughters, Harriette C. Brewington and husband Charles of Laurens, SC, Elizabeth Jean Cantrell of Walnut Creek, CA, and Dale C. Barnett and husband Stan of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Ashlon Brewington Adair of Greenwood, SC, Brandon Brewington and wife Ann of Clinton, SC, Michael Barnett of Atlanta, GA, and Elizabeth Barnett of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Chase and Braden Brewington and Cassandra and Brooks Adair; and nieces, Cecilia "Vicky"Thomason of Spartanburg, SC, and Betty Johnson of Richmond, VA. He was predeceased by his brothers, Forest Henry Cantrell, Otis John Cantrell, Walter Hannah Cantrell, Malcolm Ervin Cantrell, and Jesse Cantrell. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Friday, September 21, 2012, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Hank Williams and the Rev. Bobby Lindsey. Burial will be in Boiling Springs First Baptist Church Cemetery.
