Lois Smith

Lois Margaret Smith, 94, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 26, 2014, at her home. Born September 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Cora Lee Bartee Henderson. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Smith, Samuel (S. J.) Smith, both of Boiling Springs, SC, and Kenneth Smith, of Brookport, IL; a daughter, Margaret Black, of Spartanburg, SC; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her late husband of 63 years, Clinton H. Smith; a son, Jerry Dean Smith; two granddaughters; three brothers and a sister. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Fairview Baptist Church, 1551 Bryant Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303. A funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Ty Childers and the Rev. Dr. David Lancaster. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. The family is at the home of her daughter, Margaret Black, 610 Spring Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
