Lois Parton

Lois Ann Ayers Parton, 72, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 15, 1940, in Caroleen, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Francis Ayers and Emma Lucille Gooden Ayers, and widow of Robert Lester Parton. Mrs. Parton was formerly employed by Hoechst Fibers. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. Survivors include her children, Danny Bruce Parton (Sonya) of Spartanburg, SC, Sandra Kay Spencer (Mickey) of Spartanburg, SC, Joey Ann Carson of Rutherfordton, NC, and Harold Gene Parton of Inman, SC; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Dewitt Ayers, Ruby A. Campbell, Juanita Roper, Robert Francis Ayers, Bobby Gene Ayers, and Jimmy Ray Ayers, all of Rutherford County, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry Louise Burham; and grandson, Richard Epps. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Mitchel Edge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. The family is at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Danny Parton, 1639 Bud Arthur Bridge Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
