Lois Hutton Keels, 91, of Spartanburg, SC and former resident of Eden Terrace, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at RoseCrest-Inman, SC. Born August 23, 1924, in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Laurence and Hazel Lee Hutton and was married for 52 years to the late Harold Franklin Keels. Mrs. Keels was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She received her BA Degree from the Women's College in Greensboro, NC and taught in the Greenville School system as a middle school Language Arts teacher. Survivors include her children, Harold Franklin "Bud" Keels, Jr. of Hendersonville, NC and Elizabeth "Beth" Keels Ledbetter and her husband, William "Bill" Jones Ledbetter of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, James Paul "Jay" Ledbetter III (Amanda), John David Keels Ledbetter (Sarah), William Jones "Joe" Ledbetter II, and Joshua Luke Hutton Ledbetter, all of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchildren, Ian, Ellie, Sawyer, and James Ledbetter; brother, Robert Lee Hutton of Midlothian, VA; and beloved nieces and nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, James Laurence Hutton Jr. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 3, 2015, in Davis Chapel at First Baptist Church Spartanburg, by the Rev. Sal Barone and the Rev. Seth Buckley.
