Lois Fountain Hyatt, 88, of 400 Webber Road, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 24, 1921, in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ray Elvin and Mary Jane Mason Fountain and the wife of 61 years to the late Lachlan L. Hyatt, Sr. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a former Sunday School teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church, and a former member and president of Forest Hills Garden Club. Survivors include two sons, Lachlan L. Hyatt, Jr. and his wife Mary of Spartanburg, and William A. Hyatt, II of Central, SC; a daughter, Mary Jane Hyatt of Nashville, TN; and two grandchildren, Lisa A. Hyatt of Moore, and Nancy Marie Givens and her husband Dr. Steven R. Givens of Richmond, VA. Cryptside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Graves and the Rev. David E. Nichols. The family will receive friends following the service at the Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or to a charity of one's choice.
