Lloyd Jonas

Lloyd R. Jonas, 75, of Cowpens, SC died Friday, October 21, 2016 in Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born January 1, 1941 in Shelby, NC, he was the son of the late James Franklin and Annie Wehunt Jonas. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. Along with being an independent contractor, he worked for Wise Foods and Ryder Trucking Co. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. His love of Haiti took him back nine times through missionary work. He also worked with Faith Home in Cowpens, making a difference in many people's lives. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Faye McGinnis Jonas; children, Janice Jonas Childers (Rev. Ty) of Spartanburg, SC; Karen Jonas Dorsett (Terry) of N. Grafton, MA; Brian Jonas of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Childers (Amber); Travis Childers (Kristen); Anna Childers Robbins (Luke); Kyle Jonas; James Jonas; Katie Dorsett Loveday (Logan); Taylor Dorsett; Jonas Dorsett; great grandchildren, Emery and Lawson Loveday; Mollie Grace and Walker Robbins; Noah Childers; Honorary grandchildren, Emily and Elizabeth Bishop; brother, Charles Jonas (Brenda); and many nieces and nephews; and a special Uncle Walter Jonas. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Fairview Baptist Church, 1551 Bryant Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29303, conducted by the Rev. Ty Childers; the Rev. Logan Loveday; and Dr. Terry Dorsett. Burial will follow at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mission Haiti, Inc., P.O.
