Linda Arledge

Linda Waters Arledge, 80, of Spartanburg, passed away Tuesday, November 2nd at home surrounded by her family. Linda was the daughter of the late Coline Hawkins Waters and Walter Eugene Waters and sister to the late Edward Waters.

Linda was commonly referred to as “Wormy” and “Nannie” by her family. She owned her own daycare where she was able to watch her grandchildren, as well as many family friends' children, grow. She enjoyed rooting for the Clemson Tigers, spending time with her family, camping, and watching the birds. Linda also liked listening to classic hymns and Elvis and attending her home church at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church.

Linda was predeceased by parents Eugene and Coline Waters, brother Edward Waters and grand-daughter Emma Grace Parks.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Lemar Arledge and daughters: Cindy McNamara (Kevin), Kim Parks (Jeff), Angie Crenshaw (Allen), and Tami Steed (Kevin Sr.) with eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Mandy, Natosha (Ryan), Ashley (Kevin), Alli, Casey, Kevin Jr. (Kinsley), Will (Avery) and six great-grandchildren: Emmalin, Emerson, Blakley, Holden, AJ, and Emery.

Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:15 pm Friday November 5th, 2021 at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. A Funeral service will be at 2:30 pm at the church, conducted by The Rev. Danny Garrett, The Rev. Ronnie Norris and The Rev. Kristopher Showen. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
