Linda Sue Sampson Underwood, 58, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Magnolia Manor. Born February 20, 1951, in Huntsville, AL, she was the daughter of Kathleen Castle Sampson of Huntsville, AL, and the late Curtis Clinton Sampson. She was an independent private duty nurse and a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Surviving in addition to her mother is her husband 43 days short of 42 years, Raymond Underwood, Sr.; a daughter, Angela Bamond and her husband Michael of Spartanburg; a son, Raymond Underwood, Jr. of Columbia, SC; a granddaughter, Lee Ann Gahagan of Inman; a grandson, Joshua Bamond of Spartanburg; two sisters, Violet O'Hara of Southaven, MS, and Rosemary Brown of Huntsville, AL; and two brothers, Robert Junior Stevens of Memphis, TN, and Curtis Sampson, Jr. of Chicago, IL. She was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Deaton and Cathy Gray; and three brothers, Edward, Troy, and Robert Sampson. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Westwood Memorial Gardens conducted by Pastor Ryan Hodgins.
