Linda Lee Tate, age 76, a daughter of the late Virgil Lee and Evelyn Garden Lee, born on December 7, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC, and passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, just four days short of her birthday.
Linda's career as a Registered Nurse for over 42 years, where she worked in various facilities and organizations. She also worked for 16 years at Spartanburg Regional Health System where Linda touched countless lives during her time there. Linda will be remembered not only for her professional achievements but also for her warm and giving personality. She possessed a genuine passion for helping others and went above and beyond to ensure the well-being of those under her care. Her kindness and compassion knew no bounds, making a lasting impact on both patients and colleagues alike.
Outside of work, Linda cherished time spent with family and friends. She is survived by two loving sons, Eric Tate and his wife, Cindy of Gaffney and Jason Tate of Gaffney, SC. She was a pillar of strength in their lives, providing unwavering support and love at every turn. Linda’s grandchildren: Carrie Tate, Dana Tate, Morgan Tate, Kaelan Tate and Lee Tate, brought immense joy to her life. Additionally, four great-grandchildren; Lane Moore, Atlas Duckett, Declan Spurrier, and Barrett Duckett completed Linda's blessings. Linda's sister, Jennie Hodge and husband Ronnie were also blessed to have shared countless memories with her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Evelyn Lee, as well as her sister, Billie Ann Fleming in June 2023, and her husband, Burl Fleming in March 2023. Their memories will forever be treasured by those who loved them dearly.
A Graveside Service to celebrate Linda's life will be held on December 8, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg. Friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects. The service will begin at 12:00 PM, with the location situated at 1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Rev. Frank Taylor of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, where Linda attended, will officiate.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in her memory to Spartanburg Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
