Linda Ann (Ridings) Swann was born on February 16, 1948, in Campobello, South Carolina. She grew up on a peach farm and graduated from Chapman High School. Linda passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, surrounded by her husband and children after a sudden and unexpected decline in her health, Linda was only 76 years old.
Growing up very poor, Linda was determined to make a better life for her children, and she did just that. She and Jerry had been married for 43 years and were the true definition of a power couple. They were best friends and were an amazing example of what two people can accomplish with constant love and support for each other. She will be greatly missed.
No matter what Linda did in life, she did it with the passion of a hundred people. She taught her kids that no matter what they did, make sure it was done right and to never accept mediocrity. She was a realtor, owned a very successful cleaning company, and an equally successful roofing company. Linda was the most passionate about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them with every ounce of energy she had. Words cannot describe how proud she was of her grandbabies. She would light up anytime any of them entered the room.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Swann, her daughter, Angie Hammett and son-in-law, Stan Hammett; daughter, Sonya Wilson and son-in-law, Daniel Wilson; and son, Joseph Swann and daughter-in-law, Laura Swann. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gary Stone and his wife, Mandi Stone; Kelsey Flowe, Hunter McCombs, Amber Bryson, Matthew Swann, Ellie Swann, Jackson Swann, D.J. Wilson, and Austin Eaton. Her great grandchildren, Alyssa Stone, Brianna Stone, James Stone, and Nash Caldwell. Linda was predeceased by her father, William Ridings, mother, Ruby Childers and son, Gary Stone.
