Linda Sawyer

Linda Burgess Sawyer, 65, died Friday, March 8, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 12, 1947, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Will and Irene Stone Burgess and widow of the late Lewis Thomas Sawyer, Jr. and her second husband the late Bernard Fred Donnerstag. She was a member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. Surviving are daughters, Kimberly Gray (Jimmy) of Barnwell, SC and Tommie Lynn Anthony (Bobby) Gaffney, SC; granddaughters, Linda Marie and Brittany Hubbard both of Spartanburg, SC and Amanda Healey of Gaffney; six step-grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Dot Petty, Peggy Bright, and Nora Kimbrell; and brothers, Harold and Edward Burgess. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Timothy Hackett. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Fairview Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 2058 Chesnee Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
