Linda Coggins Roberson, 82, of Greer, went home to be with her Lord & Savior, Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur Bryan “A.B.” Coggins, Sr. and Theo Katherine Bailey Coggins. Linda was predeceased by her son, Bradford Keith Roberson, and brothers, Arthur Bryan Coggins, Jr., and Rodney Patrick Coggins.
Linda’s greatest treasures were her family. She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Gordon Keith Roberson, who was her steadfast companion, supporter, and caregiver. She was incredibly proud of her daughters, Shannan Roberson Baldree and Lara Rebecca Roberson, both of Greer, SC. Her grandchildren, Isabella and Bradford Baldree, brought her immense pride and joy. She cared deeply for her sisters-in-law Diane Coggins, Evelyn Coggins, and Mary Roberson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and fur babies.
Linda grew up attending Glendale United Methodist Church in Spartanburg. She graduated from Spartanburg High School and Winthrop College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and History. She spent her early career as a Spanish teacher at Dorman High School.
Linda’s family settled in Union, SC. She became a devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church sharing her deep faith through serving as a Sunday school teacher and volunteering for countless other church activities.
Linda loved her community, as this was evident by the many organizations to which she devoted her time. Linda retired from Wallace Thomson Hospital as the Volunteer and Activities Coordinator. Among her favorite things were reading, cooking, gardening, and history.
The family gives special thanks to her dear friend, Bonnie Scarberry as well as the teams of Interim Healthcare Home Health and Hospice for their stellar care, respect, and love to “Mrs. Linda.” A memorial service to honor and celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, 1 p.m. at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC. The service will be officiated by Chaplain and nephew David Coggins.
