Linda Gail Putnam Hammett, 74, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born August 3, 1947 in Union County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Everett Putnam and Willie Mae Gilreath Putnam.
Linda was a loving, caring person who showed it with taking care of others. She will be truly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Ray Hammett, her sons, Donnie Crawley (Penny) of Roebuck, SC, Paul Crawley, Sr. of South Carolina, William Hammett of Spartanburg, SC; stepsons, Samuel D. Hammett (Tamara) of Georgia, Timothy R. Hammett (Pamela) of South Carolina; grandchildren, Casey Crawley, Jennifer Crawley, Paula Crawley, and Paul Crawley, Jr.; great grandchildren, Jacob Crawley and Ava Rae McKinney; step great grandson, D.J. Hammett; and her siblings, Jerry Putnam and Patsy Sorrow. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Jeanette Putnam.
A Graveside service will be 10:30 AM Monday, December 27, 2021 in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Hwy. 9 North, Boiling Springs, SC 29316, conducted by The Rev. Kenneth Cash. The family will receive friends following the service.
