Linda S. Glover 71, of Boiling Springs, SC passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Linda was born on April 1, 1953, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, to the late James & Virginia Stubbs. Linda made an indelible mark on her family, friends and her community over the course of her remarkable life.
For twenty years, Linda dedicated herself to the textile industry, where her commitment and work ethic as a spinning operator were well recognized. Following this, she spent fifteen impactful years serving the North Carolina Department of Corrections as a Sergeant and was known by her friends as “Sarge”, a position that showed her leadership abilities and her unwavering dedication to those she served. Throughout her career, she demonstrated what it meant to be unapologetically authentic, a quality that endeared her to many.
Linda embraced life with a passion that was reflected in her many interests and hobbies. She took great joy in listening to country music, often found rocking in her favorite chair, with the sounds of her beloved genre filling the space around her. Nature captivated her spirit too; being outdoors brought her peace and happiness, as did her love for horses and horseback riding. Evenings spent watching classic westerns on television became a cherished ritual in her home.
Linda is survived by her daughter; Nancy "Becky" Babcock (John), Three grandchildren; Brandi Lawson (Donald), Dylan Butler, and Nicholas Bishop. Two great-grandchildren; Aiden Lawson and Milah Lawson; two sisters; Connie Garcia (Carlos) and Brenda Jenkins; Three brothers; Jimmy Stubbs (Laurene), Billy Stubbs (Barbara), Ronnie Stubbs; A host of nieces and nephews, and by her best friend and roommate Donna Phillips. Linda was predeceased by her parents; father James Stubbs, and mother Virginia Herring Stubbs and one brother Bobby Stubbs.
The Family would like to express a huge thank you to the staff at Wesley Court Assisted Living for the care and support they gave Linda through out the years she has lived under their care. Also, they would like to thank Donna Phillips as well for being Linda’s closest companion and dearest friend. Lastly, they would also like to thank the staff at Spartanburg Medical Center for all of their help as well.
