Lily Lenderman

Lily Rebecca Bracken Lenderman, 83, of Spartanburg, died on Monday, October 15, 2012, at her home. Born November 16, 1928, in Buncombe County, NC, she was the widow of Alton L. Lenderman and daughter of the late Henry and Agnes Hale Bracken. Mrs. Lenderman was a charter member of Evangel Cathedral, a board member of Carolina Pregnancy Center, state director for Concerned Women of America, past president of Spartanburg County Republican Women's Club, past president of Eagle Forum, and recipient of the Bill Barnet Service Above Self Award, in recognition of her tireless efforts to improve our state's traffic laws, honored by then Solicitor Trey Gowdy and principal Deputy Solicitor Barry Barnette on October 19, 2010. Surviving are her sons, Richard A. Lenderman and wife Brenda, Michael H. Lenderman and wife Shearon, all of Spartanburg, SC, and Gordon H. Lenderman and wife Julie of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Katy Joan Lenderman, Audrey W. Amos and husband Joey, Amy Gray Lenderman, and Anna Lee Lenderman; great-grandson, Jackson Harper Lenderman; brothers, Jimmy Bracken and wife Virginia of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Richard Bracken and wife Beverly of Greenville, SC, and Joe Bracken of Greenville, SC; sisters, Margaret Hayes of Anderson, SC, and Mabel Hawkins of Pendleton, SC. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Grant Lenderman; and brothers, Bobby Bracken and Charles Bracken. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 18, 2012, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, by Bishop Houston Miles, the Rev. Larry Braswell, and the Rev. Dr. Randal S. Langley.
