Lillian Arrowood Spencer, 93, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, December 4, 2021, at White Oak Estates Nursing Home. Born on October 15, 1928 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Carvie William and Effie Williams Arrowood and the wife of the late Ralph Willard Spencer.
Lillian was a member of Love Springs Baptist Church in Cowpens and was retired from Converse Mills. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother. The best cook ever, especially her pound cake. She loved yard work and nature.
She is survived by a daughter, Bobbie S. Gilliam (Norman) of Murrells Inlet, SC; a son, Ralph D. Spencer (Teresa C.) of Cowpens; grandchildren, Wayne Spencer, Wesley Gilliam (Lee Harper), Stephanie Hembree and Jennifer Bridges; great-grandchildren, Justin Spencer, C. J. Dutton, Isla Rowan Harper Gilliam, Waylon Hembree, and Houston Bridges.
The family will receive friends 12:45 – 1:45 PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM in the chapel, conducted by The Rev. John Cox and Pastor Chuck Thornton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
