Lexie Robertson

Lexie Hazel Helms Robertson, 94, 412 Woodgrove Trace, (Thornhill) went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 11, 2011, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Mrs. Robertson was a virtuous woman, prized by her family far above the rubies; her works, faith and love will praise her in the gates. Born October 27, 1916 in Union County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lexie Helms and Mary Lou Austin and was the widow of the late Kenneth Swan Robertson. Mrs. Robertson was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC, and later a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of Spartanburg and the Cema Chreitzberg Sunday School Class. She is survived by a son, Eric Wayne Robertson and wife Marion of Spartanburg, SC; and two grandsons, Jeffrey Robertson and wife Linda of Hudson, OH and Carl Robertson of San Francisco, CA and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Doris Jean Robertson; two brothers, Frontis and Wriston Helms; four sisters, Ila Austin, Ona Ross, Ruth Overcash, and Annie Maude Pope. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church Parlor. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. David E. Nichols and the Rev. David B. Smith. Interment will be at 3:30 PM in Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC.
