Lewis Albert Hughes, 80, of Simpsonville, SC, died on Monday, April 8, 2013, at Diamond Health & Rehab-Simpsonville. Born March 18, 1933, in Simpsonville, SC, he was the son of the late Perry and Effie Carlton Hughes. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Hughes was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and loved fishing. Surviving are his sons, Wallace Hughes (Margie) of Murphy, TX, and Roger Hughes (Denise) of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Amanda, William, Alex, Austin, and Chris Hughes; and sisters, Nettie Buros (Manuel) of Tucker, GA, Mary Anderson (Paul) of Spartanburg, SC, and Opal jean Wheelock (Bobby) of Johnson City, TN. He was predeceased by his brothers, Benny Lee, J. P. Hughes, and Jack Hughes; and sisters, Margaret Spencer and Nancy Morgan. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. A graveside service with military rites by the SC State Guard Honors Team will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev.
