Lewis Glenn Gregory, 94, of Spartanburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 4, 2023. He was born on March 24, 1929, in Spartanburg, a son of the late Fred McDowell Gregory and Biddie Vehaun Gregory. Lewis was married to the late Frances Gentry Gregory.
Lewis was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
He was a hard worker, having been employed with Norfolk-Southern Railway and Spartan Petroleum Company. Lewis was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean War era.
Surviving is his son, Terry O’Neal Gregory (Linda) of Pauline; his grandchildren, Meagan Long (Brandon) of Piedmont, SC and Bradley Gregory (Melissa) of Roebuck; and his four great-grandchildren, Cameron Gregory, EllieClaire, Kennedy, and Bennett Long. Lewis was predeceased by his five brothers and six sisters.
Lewis’s Graveside Service will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, September 8, 2023, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Keith Davis. Military Honors will be provided by the US Army Honors Team.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church, 2817 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
