Lewis Lee Cash, 61, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born November 13, 1947, in Mountain Rest, SC, he was the son of the late Elmer and Gertrude King Cash and the husband of the late Janice Blakely Cash. He was retired from Community Cash Stores after 16 years of service and was a member of Converse Baptist Church. He collected Civil War memorabilia and had an extensive collection and knowledge of history. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa D. Fortner and her husband Jeffrey of Duncan, and Michelle Albanese and her husband Tom of Fleetwood, PA; a cousin, Earl Birch of Central, SC; and four grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2009, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. C. Kent Smith. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elizabeth House, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
