Leslie M. Gossett, 70, of Glenn Springs, died Friday, February 12, 2010, at his home. Born April 13, 1939, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Everie Gossett Sr. and Elsie Mae Jones Gossett. He was retired from Fiske Carter Construction after 33 years of service. He was a member of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church and a part of the Hardees Breakfast Club. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Lawson and her husband Ira of West Springs, and Jayne Lawson of Pauline; two granddaughters, Holly Lawson of Greenville, and Jenna Lawson of Pauline; two grandsons, Justin Lawson of West Springs, and Jordan Lawson of Pauline; a brother, John Gossett Jr. of Clover; two great- granddaughters, Kayleigh and Kaitlyn Lawson of West Springs; and Kathy and Jayne's mother, Barbara Gossett Crocker and her husband Wayne. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2010, at Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. B.E. Pettit. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center. Pallbearers will be Ira Lawson, Justin Lawson, Jordan Lawson, Gary Hayes, Danny West, and Steve Boyd. Honorary Escort will be Mike Thornton, Dennis Hayes, Larry Bruff, Nick Jones, David Jones, and John Gossett, III. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 279, Pauline, SC 29374. The family is at the home.
