Leroy Thornton

Leroy Thornton, 42, of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, July 4, 2014, in Bryson City, NC. Born October 2, 1971, he was the son of Dorothy Louise Goforth Thornton and the late Jimmy Mike Thornton. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of McClure Creek Hunting Club. Surviving is his loving wife, Vivian Thornton; children, Brooke Lee, Brittany Lindsay, Brandy Lindsay, Nicholas Glance, and Austin Thornton; four grandchildren; brothers and sister, Michael James Thornton (Trudy), Billy Wayne Thornton (Cindy), Angela Lenora Tyler (Albert), and Bubba Thornton (Jamie Nichole); and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Melissa "Lulu" Thornton. Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, by the Rev. Jerry Darnell.
