Leonard "Poppie"

Leonard Reid Marsh, 84, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, January 14, 2019, at Valley Falls Terrace. Born December 27, 1934, in Chesnee, SC, he was the son of the late Heddric and Janie Wall Marsh. A U. S. Army veteran and graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College, Mr. Marsh retired from M. Lowenstein Company-Springs Industries and was a former member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joyce Cantrell Marsh of the home; daughters, Jennifer M. Long (Jason) of Spartanburg, SC and Regina Marsh of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren, Austin Reid Marsh and Shontel Lauren Harris, both reared in the home, Justin Long, and Victoria Long; two great-grandchildren, Nova Douglas and Kyler Douglas; brothers, Virgil Marsh of Wilmett, IL and Wayne Marsh of Matthews, NC; and two canine companions, Ollie and Maxx. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Janie Marsh Putnam; brother, Jimmy Marsh and twin brother, Lamar Marsh. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by Mr. Ricky Jones. Burial, with military rites, will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Long of Katelyn Dr., Spartanburg, SC.
