Leona Callahan

Barbara Leona Latham "Mama" Callahan, 93, of Spartanburg, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at White Oak Manor-Spartanburg. Born May 22, 1920, in Kings Mountain, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Lillie Mae Jackson Latham. Mrs. Callahan was a very active member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church. She was the secretary of the Ladies Sunday School Class, coordinator of Young at Heart, and a member of Eastern Star. She was formerly employed with Butte Knit and Clifton Manufacturing Company. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Daniel and Sandra Littlejohn, both of Spartanburg, SC; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and special "sister", Ruby Brown. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Jones; daughters, Betty Taylor and Cynthia Ann Jones; and a son, Thomas Lloyd Jones. Visitation will be 2:30-3:15 PM Friday, December 6, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Tim Hackett. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Fairview Freewill Baptist Church, 2058 Chesnee Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of Sandra Littlejohn, 4391 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
