Leola Turner

Leola Turner, 89, formerly of Lake Forest Drive, died Saturday, September 4, 2010, at RoseCrest. Born July 29, 1921, in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Pertha Dorlas and Alice Westbrook Lamb and the widow of Malcolm Dugar Turner, Sr. She was a charter member of Fernwood Baptist Church, an active member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, and a volunteer at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. Survivors include a son, Malcolm D. (Mike) Turner, Jr. and wife Jane of Spartanburg, and a grandson, Charles M. Turner of Greenville, SC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sheila D. Turner. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Dean Allen. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
