Leo Regester

February 18, 1920 — January 13, 2012

Leo Laverne Regester, 91, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at his home. Born February 18, 1920, in Nevada, Iowa, he was a son of the late Claude and Winifred Opal Nikle Regester. He was formerly employed with A & R Rowe Printers and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and sponsored and financed building Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Romania. Survivors are his wife, Edna May Olsen Regester; two daughters; six sons; fifteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Altha Winchester; and a brother, Dr. Willard Regester. He was predeceased by his first wife of 64 years, Gertrude Elaine Martin Regester. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Colburn Hall at the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary, conducted by Pastor Gary Mattingly and Pastor Jerry LaFave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eddlemon Adventist School, 1217 John B. White Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
