Lena Lawson

Lena Sue Palmer Lawson, 86, of Pauline, died Friday, February 17, 2012, at her home. Born November 24, 1925, in Pauline, she was the widow of Robert Elvin Lawson, and daughter of the late B. R. T. Palmer and Frances Gertrude Shands Palmer. Mrs. Lawson loved her Lord, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and a graduate of Pauline High School. Survivors include her daughters, Darlene VanCleave and husband Don of West Columbia, and Theresa Marro and husband John of Walnut Grove; son, Steve Lawson and wife Mary Frances of Elko, SC; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Susan Lawson of Pauline; and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Dale Lawson; and a brother, J. T. Palmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2012, in Philadelphia Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Joshua C. Jennings and the Rev. Charles M. Eaton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will follow in the Family Life Center.
