Lela Sherbert

Lela L. Sherbert, 89, formerly of Glenwood Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2010. Born October 12, 1920 in Inman, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jefferson and Sara Carolina Lee and wife of the late Ezell Sherbert. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg where she served as a Sunday School teacher and on various committees involving Senior Citizens. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and friend showing God's love to everyone she met in passing. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Lavender and husband Mike of Campobello, and Callie Williams and husband Bob of Moore; two grandsons, Matthew Lavender of Campobello and John K. Williams of Roebuck; a sister, Annie Mae Drake of Greenville; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Lee of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. John Everhart. A private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
