Lee Fletcher, 79, of Cowpens, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born September 1, 1943, in Whitney, SC he was the son of the late Julian C. and Vergie T. Fletcher.
Lee was a talented gospel guitar player, entertaining folks in Nursing Homes. He was a selfless, laid-back man who loved helping others, tending his beautiful garden, and traveling to the mountains. Lee worked in the spinning room for Reeves Brothers in Chesnee, SC and attended Una Church of God of Prophecy, now called Calvary Temple Community Church. He loved the Lord, his friends, and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Lee Fletcher of the home; daughter, Nancy Fletcher Branton (Tommy) of Chesnee, SC; sons, James Fletcher (Debra) of Cowpens, SC and Ronnie Fletcher (Renee) of Boiling Springs, SC; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Abernathy of Spartanburg, SC. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Norman Fletcher, Elizabeth Gosnell, and Aaron Fletcher.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Floyd’s North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Springhill Memorial Gardens, 1011 S. Alabama Avenue, Chesnee, SC 29323, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Arrington and the Rev. Kenneth Cash.
