Laura Elizabeth McConnell Taylor, 48, of Spartanburg, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 28, 2022. She was born on April 23, 1973 in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of Butch and Ann Martin McConnell of Cowpens.
Laura graduated from Broome High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. She was a longtime employee of Broome High School and was a member of Cannon’s Campground United Methodist Church. Laura loved to laugh and believed that all ladies should have a tiara. A football mom, she loved her football boys-Roll Tide!
Along with her parents, Laura is survived by her husband of 27 years, Keith Harvey Taylor; her son, Nicholas Keith Taylor of Cowpens; her sister, Nikki McConnell Dunnagin of Boiling Springs; her niece, Elizabeth Grace Dunnagin of Boiling Springs; and two very special almost family members, Bailey Purvis and Kattie Beach. Laura was blessed with many, many close friends and acquaintances that she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, January 31, 2022 at Spartanburg School District 3 Community Auditorium at Broome High School, 381 Cherry Hill Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Randall Osment. Burial will be in Thompson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 896 Thompson Chapel Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. All attendees are encouraged to wear pink in honor of Laura’s courageous battle against breast cancer.
The family will be at the home of her parents, Butch and Ann McConnell in Cowpens.
