Larry Morris

Larry Donald Morris, 53, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016, of complications from a heart attack, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 18, 1963, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Donald and Sara McIntyre Morris. Larry was owner of Morris Oil and Tire, which has been a family business in Spartanburg for over 30 years. He loved baseball, coaching many youth leagues in Spartanburg, the Georgia Bulldogs, and most of all, being a dad and being involved in the lives of his children. He was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was also a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. He attended the University of Georgia and was also a member of Network Spartanburg. Survivors include his wife, best friend, and soulmate, Julie Morris; children, Harrison, Patrick, Bryce, Bethany, and Kaitlyn; his cousin, Jane McFerrin, who was like a sister to Larry; numerous other cousins; longtime friends, Greg Stone and Tim Smith, who were also like brothers; and longtime friend and employee, Angela Davis. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Morningside Baptist Church, 897 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by the Rev. Stephen R. Owensby and the Rev. Jack C. Dodds. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
