Larry Cobb

Larry Keith Cobb, 62, of 151 Fernwood Drive, died Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 3, 1947, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of Betty Cobb Paul of St. Matthews, SC, and the late Ralph Porter Cobb. He attended Porter Military Academy and graduated from St. Andrews High School in Charleston, SC. He was of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, having received the National Defense Service Medal. Surviving in addition to his mother are two daughters, Sandra L. Mitchum and husband Leonard R. Mitchum, III, and Cynthia Reeves, and four grandchildren, Amanda Mitchum, Lindsay Mitchum, L. Reese Mitchum IV, and Sasha Reeves, all of Mount Pleasant; an aunt, Evelyn Gardner, and an aunt and uncle, John and Sara Steadman, all of Spartanburg. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Live Oak Memorial Gardens in Charleston, SC, conducted by the Rev. John W. Hipp. No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
