Lannis Smith

Lannis N. Smith, 79 of 111 Arcadia Main Street Ext., died Thursday, December 23, 2010, at his home. Born July 8, 1931 in Glenn Springs, SC, he was the son of the late Lammie Alexander and Louise Smith and the husband of the late Betty Jo Medley Smith. He retired from Beaumont Mills after 30 years of service, was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church, a member of Arcadia Masonic Lodge #285, and a Shriner. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Ames of Spartanburg and Linda Niday and husband David of Inman; two sons, Lannis W. Smith and wife Donna and Sammie Smith, all of Spartanburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Jerry L. Smith and three sisters. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Chaplain Jim McClure.
