Ladson Smith

Ladson Samuel Smith, 82, passed away on Friday, September 05, 2014, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born August 15, 1932 in Spartanburg County, SC. He was the son of the late Grady Samuel and Mae West Smith. As a member of Westgate Free Will Baptist Church, "Shorty" was a deacon, who loved his Lord, Church, family and friends. He was retired from Smith's Tire Exchange, where he was the owner/operator. Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy Hall Smith, a daughter Sheila Smith (Mark) Boyd, of Inman, SC; a son, Ricky Samuel (Susan) Smith, of Dickson, TN; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Calvert (Alicia) Smith, of Bonaire, GA. He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:45 PM, Monday, September 8, 2014, at Westgate Freewill Baptist Church Sanctuary, 820 W. Blackstock Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM at the church, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Smith, the Rev. Buddy Seay, and Mr. Ernest Shook. Pallbearers will be Chad Splawn, Ryan Parks, Josh Jackson, Jerry Morgan, Brian Easler, and the Rev. Wesley Campbell.
