L. Mcelrath

L. C. "Buddy" McElrath, 90, of 219 Heather Drive, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 15, 1920 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late DeWitt and Ella Valentine McElrath. A member of Second Presbyterian Church, he retired from Spartan Grain and Mill Company after 42 years of service, and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Agnes Dowis McElrath; two daughters, Libby Brannon of Charleston and Jody Carpin of Simpsonville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Steven H. Rhodes. Visitation will follow the service at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home.
