Christine K. Kilgore Arrowood was called home to be with the Lord and passed away peacefully in her home following a long illness on March 14, 2025. Born on July 22, 1938, in Seneca, South Carolina, she was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Minnie Marie Terry Kilgore.
Family was the center of Christine's life, as was her love of family gatherings at her home. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Amanda Golden of Spartanburg, Sharon Wade of Inman, and Dana Shinta (Joseph) of Boiling Springs. Christine delighted in her role as a grandmother, lovingly remembering her grandchildren: Adam Shinta (Jennifer), Courtney Dobbins (Andrew), Kirby Parham (Daniel), Quentin Golden, and Mallory Whitley (Alan). Her joy was further multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Kaylor Golden, Reese Dobbins, Sophia Dobbins, Will Parham, and Raelyn Shinta. She is also survived by her brother, Orr Kilgore (Alma), and her sister, Bonnie Hanks (Harold), who shared in her many memories, along with their children and grandchildren.
Christine was a devout Christian and a long-time member of Cowpens First Baptist Church. She actively participated in the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and was passionate about engaging in various church ministry activities up until the time she became ill.
Christine was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Wiles, Jr., her second husband, Wesley Everett Arrowood, her son, James Randall Wiles, her parents, and her brothers, Levis Kilgore, Marvin Kilgore, and Bobby Kilgore, as well as her sister, Mildred McCoy.
An avid gardener, Christine brought beauty and color to the world through her flowers and loved being outdoors. Baking was another of her passions, filling her home with warmth and the delightful aroma of her treats. Her loving spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and faith will forever be remembered.
Special thanks to the Hospice workers and her many neighbors who assisted her during her illness.
