Kirk Neely

Kirk (Bebop) Neely, 90, of Spartanburg, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born November 14, 1920, in Greenville, and reared in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Mamie Willingham Lawton and Kreswell Edward Neely, Sr. Mr. Neely was the past-president of Neely's Building Supplies and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise Hudson Neely; four brothers, Tom, KE, Jr., Asbury and Bill Neely; one sister, Allene Neely Bennett; three grandsons, Erik Neely, Kres and William Suits; one granddaughter, Mamie Katherine Wilson; and one great-granddaughter, Ali Roe. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cash Neely; one sister, Ann Neely Bishop; two brothers, Wesley and Herbert Neely; eight children and their spouses; forty-one grandchildren and their spouses; and forty-three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2011, in the Fellowship Hall of Morningside Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 8, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church, conducted by the family. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
