Kevin Russell

Kevin Brian Russell, 60, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 at his home. Born May 25, 1957, in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of Joyce Roberts Russell of Spartanburg, SC and the late Alan D. Russell. Mr. Russell moved to South Carolina in 1979 where he taught at Whitten Village and retired in 2010 from the South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind after 31 years of service. He was a strong man of God that left an impression on everyone who knew him. Our hearts are heavy, but we rejoice for Kevin. Philippians 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Karolee Spencer Russell; children, Megan Elizabeth Russell Bates and her spouse, Bryan Thomas Bates of Anderson, SC and Aaron Matthew Russell and his spouse, Danielle Hughes Russell of Irmo, SC; grandchildren, Caleb, Nathan, and Lily Bates, Adalyn and Lydia Russell; sister, Laurie Russell of Goose Creek, SC; brother, David Russell and his wife, Donna of Burlington, VT; loving mother-in-law, Kathy Spencer of Spartanburg, SC; church family and friends. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. David K. Wells.
