Kent Deal

Kent Howard Deal, 73, of Spartanburg, died Monday, October 1, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 3, 1938, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Herman Howard Deal and Idella Jean Dill Sleeth. Mr. Deal was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from Y. C. Ballenger Electrical Contractors and Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He was a loving husband, daddy, and grandpa who loved cooking for crowds, loved fishing, and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church, Cowpens. Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Faye Biggs Deal; son, Todd Deal and wife Suzanne of Chesnee; granddaughter, Emma Grace Deal; sister, Linda Deal Trammell of Spartanburg; and nephew, Dwayne Deal of Moore. He was predeceased by a son, Maxie Kent Deal; and brother, Gene Deal. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Steven Griffith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary escort are members of the men's Sunday School Class. Pallbearers are Kenneth Pearson, Shane Ezell, Brian Wofford, Barry Davis, Jared Spencer, and David Mabry.
